No server, no tracking
Visola has no server of its own. There is no account with me, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. The app talks to Google directly from your device, and to nobody else.
Signing in with Google
When you connect a Google account, Google asks you to allow three things: your email address and account ID (so Visola can tell several accounts apart) and read-only access to Search Console (webmasters.readonly). Visola cannot change anything in Search Console. The tokens Google hands out for this are kept in the keychain of your device.
With that access Visola loads the websites in your Search Console and their performance data: clicks, impressions, click-through rate and position, by day, query, page, country and device. It stores them in the app on your device, so they are there offline and so the history can go back further than Google’s 16 months. They never leave your device, and I cannot see them.
Visola’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Taking it back
When you remove an account in Visola, the app also withdraws its access at Google and deletes the tokens from the keychain. The numbers already loaded stay in the app until you delete the app. You can also withdraw the access at any time in your Google account under Third-party apps and services.
The App Store
Visola comes from the App Store, so buying and installing it happens between you and Apple. What reaches me is Apple’s sales report: how many copies were installed or bought and in which country, counted up and never tied to a person. Apple’s own privacy policy covers that side of it.
This website
No cookies, no analytics, no tracking pixels, and no fonts or scripts from other servers. The page is static and hosted by Cloudflare Pages, which keeps server logs including IP addresses in order to serve it. The start address visola.app reads the language your browser asks for and sends you to that version of the site; nothing of it is stored.
